Gulf Well

Wellhead/ Tree is is an assembly of valves, spools, pressure gauges and chokes fitted to the wellhead of a completed well to control production.

It resembles a decorated tree, with a vertical main body and horizontal branches that house the valves and fittings.

It is typically installed after drilling and completion operations have been completed and the well is ready for production.

Some of the key functions include:

Controlling well pressure: The tree is equipped with a series of valves that allow operators to control the pressure of the fluids and gases in the wellbore. This is important to prevent blowouts and other safety hazards.

Regulating flow: The valves on the tree also allow operators to regulate the flow of fluids and gases in and out of the well. This is important for maximizing production and controlling the rate of flow to prevent damage to the well or reservoir.

Monitoring well performance: The tree is equipped with gauges and sensors that allow operators to monitor various parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow rate. This information is used to optimize production and diagnose any issues that may arise.

Providing access to the well: The tree is also used to provide access to the well for various activities such as well testing, intervention, and maintenance.

Some of the key components of the Tree are

Valves: Valve helps to control the flow of fluids and gases from the wellbore. They allow the operator to regulate the production flow rate and pressure, as well as to shut off the flow in the event of an emergency. Choke valve is used to regulate the flow rate of production fluid from the wellbore. Gate valve or ball valve is used as isolation valves to shut off the flow of fluids in the event of an emergency, such as a Well blowout or a pipeline rupture. The ball valve can also be used as a shut-off valve to isolate the wellhead from the production system.

Gauges and Sensors: Gauges and sensors monitor and measure various parameters related to the production process. They provide important data that helps the operator to make informed decisions and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the well. They are used to measure the pressure of the production fluid at various points in the wellhead and the production system. They are also used to measure the temperature of the production fluid and the surrounding environment. They are also used to monitor flow rate, fluid level, presence of hydrogen sulfide gas etc

Casing and tubing hangers: These are components that support the well casing and production tubing, respectively. They are installed on the top of the wellhead and provide a means to suspend the casing and tubing in the wellbore.

Annular blowout preventer (BOP): An annular BOP is a safety device that is installed around the wellhead to prevent blowouts. It consists of a rubber seal that can be inflated to seal off the wellbore in case of an emergency.

Gulfwell makes various components of Trees including gate valves, actuators, casing heads, tubing hangers, spools, and adapters, bushing and annulus seal, tees and crosses, tree caps, wear bush, back pressure valve, lubricators, valve removal plugs, tree caps etc. These components are made of alloy steel and undergo proprietary heat treatment technologies which make them suitable for usage in high pressure, and high temperature. We also have components made of Inconel materials for use in highly corrosive environments. For more information on Gulfwell’s components for Wellhead/ Tree please write to sales@gulfwell.ae
